As the Seniors are preparing to walk and receive their diplomas we are also preparing for the Christ filled summer that is just around the bend. In celebration of another school year down, we are ending it with our end of the year BBQ this year being held at the Union Lake Sailing and Tennis Club in Millville NJ. Everyone is invited, youth, parents and friends.  We are also very excited about this years mission trip to Joplin Missouri and want to be able to experience it with as many as possible, so if you feel the call to join us through which ever way, we are looking for sponsors, voulenteers, youth, adult chaperons, and the partnership in parayer so join us this year as we start this adventure! Check out the video below to see a short clip of Joplin Mi. Blessings and Love from our Lord! -Level 6 Crew!!!

WHAT IS LEVEL 6 YOU ASK?Level 6 Is Olivet UMC's Youth Ministry starting at the Jr High Level from 6-8th grade and continuing through the Sr. High 9th-12th grade. It is a ministry geared to ministering to youth in our area and lead them into a stronger relationship with Christ. Through God's Love message of Salvation, fellowship, bible studies, ministry opportunities, mission trips, and the list goes on and on!

OH YOU WANT TO KNOW WHAT THE "LEVEL 6" MEANS?We like to use the bullseye symbol with the cross in the middle because the goal is to get closer to the center, to reach closer to Christ, and we think of the rings as different levels...

  • LEVEL 1: Salvation- First we need to know Christ if we want to get to know him better!
  • LEVEL 2: Fellowship- It is of great help in knowing Christ and drawing closer when you have Christian fellowship and like minded friends who will encourage you in this journey.
  • LEVEL 3: Bible- First two steps are not just enough, if you really want to know Him what better source than His Word which He left for us.
  • LEVEL 4: Ministry- Once you have equipped yourself with His truth and as you continue to grow, get out into the world and involved in ministry, sharing God's Love through serving and any other opportunities that may come before you, wether in your school, job, neighborhood, or across seas!
  • LEVEL 5: Good Fruit- Practicing all these prior steps are going to lead to you as a branch to produce good fruit!
  • LEVEL 6: RELYING ON GOD!- That all of these previous steps may seem like a good roadmap but it's nothing if you aren't relying on Christ. If we try doing these on our own we will not succeed. Level 6 is all about God's love which empowers us to want to get to know Him more and more and that's why we need to rely on God!
...So, NOW you want to be part of Level 6, great well we look forward to seeing you!

Verse 2 Rehearse!

    1 Peter 1:3

Praise be to God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

  • The Rooster's Crow

This past Holy week I was asked to do a piece in our Maundy Thursday service from the perspective of Peter during the time when he denied Jesus Christ. I performed a five minute monolouge on Peter's experience. In this monologue I portrayed Peter almost as a crazy man who is haunted by the sounds of the rooster crowing.

  • Lost Sheep

Have you ever felt like a lost sheep... or just lost in anything that you do? I was so encouraged the other night at youth group as we continue to share on this new year and new beginnings.

  • New Shoes!

Well it's no secret Christmas is over. All the convenient stores are putting away their Christmas stuff and place their focus on the next holiday. One thing I love about the holidays is seeing people using their new toys and gifts that they received during the holidays, a new outfit, a dress, or my favorite...

  • Birthday Party

Have you ever had a birthday party where the guests bring each other gifts, but have nothing for you? As we celebrate Christ's birthday let us not forget it is his birthday, not ours, and think about how we can give a gift to Jesus.A great gift would be to follow Jesus in advice in Luke 9:23 "Then he said to them all: 'Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me. " thinking of it, it would be awkward to not receive a gift on my own birthday......

  • CHRIStmas!

Celebrating Christ's Christmas! I recently did our youth group lesson on Christ's Christmas and the more I think about it the more it challenges me. See we always talk about "keeping Christ in Christmas" or the good ole' saying "Jesus is the reason for the season" but is he?
